JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – CAMERA, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis, announced the expansion of its Israel operations with the creation of a new Hebrew Facebook page for its campus division, CAMERA on Campus.

The Facebook page will regularly post content in Hebrew about the misinformation, inaccuracies and biased information promulgated about Israel in the media and academia, as well as content relating to anti-Semitism worldwide. Furthermore, it will post translated and original Hebrew articles found on CAMERA on Campus’s blog, written by participants in CAMERA’s Student Fellowship from both Israel and abroad. The Facebook page aims to promote awareness among the Israeli public about these underreported issues.

“We at CAMERA believe that Israeli society could play a significant role in combatting the rise in anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism on college campuses, whether in the classroom or on prominent news sites. Israelis know life in Israel firsthand, and we can spread that truth far and wide. The first step is increasing awareness,” stated Aviva Rosenschein, CAMERA on Campus’s International Campus Director. Ms. Rosenschein also explained that the blog and Facebook page will provide the first platform for Israeli students to share their thoughts and opinions about these topics.

“Our content reaches thousands of people each week, including journalists, high-ranking military officials, representatives of Israel in the diplomatic community, and even government agencies,” added Eitan Fischberger, CAMERA on Campus’s Israel Coordinator and manager of the page.

The Hebrew Facebook page is the newest addition to CAMERA’s Campus department, which maintains a presence on over 80 college campuses worldwide, and is active on various social media platforms. During these times, when most campuses are closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, CAMERA on Campus has shifted its activities online, where it hosts educational webinars and workshops.

In addition to CAMERA on Campus, CAMERA’s other departments include CAMEA Arabic, CAMERA UK, ReVista de Medio Oriente, and Presspectiva, which monitor Arabic, British, Spanish, and Israeli media, respectively.
