On April 7th, 2015, Cornellians for Israel (CFI), our EMET for Israel group, brought Assi Azar to Cornell University to show students what life is like for LGBTQA individuals in Israel. He talked about how Israel is the only country in the Middle East that is progressive in terms of gay rights.
Around 40 people came to the event. The attendees enjoyed the casual, fun, and friendly atmosphere that Assi created. CFI hopes to host inspiring speakers similar to Assi Azar for future events!
