Ithaca College students at CAMERA-supported group Student Alliance for Israel (SAFI) literally gave the college a taste of Israel in April, hosting an event about Israeli food.

All the usual suspects were discussed including, Bamba, Bissli, Pita. All the students loved the event, with several of the foods available for them to taste. Students tried cereals Kariot and Krave, and they made a unanimous decision that Kariot was better. Students said it was very interesting to see where the cereal they get originates from, and how it is changed in America. Students were amazed that the Israeli version was “way” better than the American version.

All the usual Israeli foods were on offer for students to eat

The event allowed students to understand where some of the food eaten today comes from, and taught the students something they didn’t already know about Israel.
