There have been some exciting pro-Israel events at the University of Miami over the past few weeks, organized by CAMERA-supported group Emet for Israel.
The university held International Week, where different tables were set up, and students could be exposed to different countries and cultures from around the world. Emet for Israel set up a table dedicated to telling Israel’s story. The Israel table featured a game with the map of Israel, allowing people to get to know the country better, as well as telling the incredible story of Israeli technology, and how wide-spread the use of Israeli technology is in our day to day lives.
At the end of the week, Emet for Israel held another event, called “Think Green, Think Blue.” This was held the day before Earth Day, and was meant to highlight how Israel contributes towards a greener and more environmentally friendly planet. Emet for Israel set up a table with games, posters and flyers, all meant to show how Israel helps contribute towards a greener and cleaner planet.
There was however, sad news more recently from Emet for Israel. Tragically, Ellie Goldenberg, a very active member of Emet for Israel, died in an accident in May, the day after her graduation. The student community in general, and Emet for Israel in particular, are mourning the loss of a wonderful person, who tragically passed away at 22. May her memory be a blessing.
