Earlier this May, ORU United for Israel hosted their “Israeli Bash” event at Oral Roberts University. The group is a CAMERA-supported campus group run by Christian Zionist students.
ORU United for Israel brought in a DJ and authentic Israeli musicians, adding the authenticity to the event that they were looking for. The students’ ears perked up when they heard Israeli music, which drew crowds from across campus. Though they came to enjoy the music, they ended up learning about Israel too.
While noshing on delicious Israeli food together, ORU United for Israel students sat with their peers and engaged them in enriching discussions about Israel. For some students, this was their first opportunity to hear the positive truth about Israel or about Israel at all.
While the students discussed Israel and danced to Israeli music, a specialist exposed students to Krav Maga, Israel’s unique form of martial arts. The specialist explained the basic history of Krag Maga and taught students some moves, which piqued their interest.
Students left the event thirsty for more knowledge about Israel. A few students even stayed around after the event ended to hear more about Israel and particularly about Krav Maga.
ORU United for Israel was very pleased with the turnout at the Israeli Bash and were delighted to receive positive feedback from students well after the event was held!
