Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at The University of Georgia hosted Reflections of a Jerusalem Correspondent featuring Etgar Lefkovits early in November. The pro-Israel group hoped to the disintegration of the Middle East with topics including new and old alliances, the rise of Islamic extremism and Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza this summer.
There were over 25 students in attendance for this informative event. CCAP Representative Adam Lessner stated that, “Etgar did a terrific job of explaining everything that is going on in Israel. He also gave students the opportunity to gain a baseline understanding of not only of Israel but of the entire climate in the Middle East.”
Lessner also added that, “students had the opportunity to hear an expert who has spent a great deal of time in Israel. Anyone can learn about Israel or the Middle East with a click of the mouse but hearing it from someone who travels the country speaking about the topic and has spoken in Congress presents an incredibly effective opportunity.”
Students Supporting Israel feels confident that students who attended left with a great deal of knowledge. The event was so successful that the Q&A sessions continued on through the ending time of the event.
We are excited to hear about the next successful pro-Israel event that SSI at The University of Georgia hosts!
