This year is the first year that CAMERA has worked closely with students at the University of Connecticut through one of our two flagship student programs: Fellows and CCAP.
Our UConn CAMERA Fellow, Ali Jabick, has the responsibility for introducing her campus community to CAMERA, and recently held a meeting on campus to explain and discuss CAMERA’s work.
Ali reported that, as a result of her presentation,
“More people are now aware of CAMERA and what I will be doing as a fellow and are also interested in getting involved and helping with planning the events. I think this was really great because now I have more people to collaborate with and to get input from…I think the most effective aspect of the event was explaining what my duties are as a Fellow this year and how others can get involved. After the event, several of the participants and I met to discuss ideas for the year and what types of programs we would like to implement on campus. I think this was a really great way for us to start collaborating together.”
We’re looking forward to broadening our work at UConn. Check out Ali’s upcoming CAMERA Fellows event with Sgt Benjamin Anthony!
