At Binghamton University, BUZO (Binghamton University Zionist Organization), an EMET for Israel group, invited famous IDF soldier Izzy Ezagui to come speak to students at the university’s Chabad. The event was co-sponsored with CAMERA.

Ezagui is an American-born IDF soldier who was injured in combat in Gaza, losing his left and dominant arm, and yet two months later returned to the battlefield to continue fighting for Israel. Even to this day, Ezagui serves in an elite reserves unit in the IDF. With such an empowering and insightful story, it is no wonder why BUZO was able to attract over 200 students to Ezagui’s presentation about his life story.

Ezagui has shared his story with thousands of people and is used to speaking to large audiences, such as the one at Binghamton Chabad. Regarding Ezagui’s presentation, BUZO participant and CAMERA Liaison Haley Silverstein commented, “The audience was thrilled with the event. The students were fascinated by Izzy’s story and his ability to overcome his challenges. Students had tons of questions to ask him after his speech and wanted to know more.”

Thanks to CAMERA’s EMET for Israel groups and CAMERA Fellows, Ezagui has also spoken at many campuses across the country, including Rockland Community College, the University of Michigan, SUNY Buffalo, and Florida Atlantic University.
