Professor Alan Dershowitz is one of Israel’s most prominent defenders. The author of “The Case for Israel” and “The Case Against Israel’s Enemies”, the Harvard Law Professor is a vocal supporter of Israel, and an outspoken critic of the BDS campaign.
Professor Dershowitz recently spoke to around 200 students at Harvard Law School, at an event sponsored by CAMERA-supported group, HLS Alliance for Israel. His talk took the form of a conversation with Professor Gideon Palte, and this style of session lead to a more informal feel to the event.
He covered a number of topics – his defense of Israel, the campaign for Soviet Jewry, and his experience as a proudly Jewish professor at a time when universities were not as accepting of Jews as they are today. There was also time for questions for students, and combined with the informal style of the talk, this meant students got to feel that Professor Dershowitz was not merely lecturing them, but he was guiding them as they begin their journey’s, as professionals, as Jews, and as supporters of Israel.
