This week, CAMERA was glad to welcome the Israel on Campus Coalition Leadership Mission to Israel at our Jerusalem office!
CAMERA’s Director of the Israel Office, Tamar Sternthal, spoke with the 20 students who were recommended by partner ICC organizations to attend the mission on the importance of CAMERA’s work in challenging media bias and ensuring falsehoods are corrected.
Once case example was CAMERA’s prompted correction by the New York Times on the November 12th burning of a mosque.
CAMERA’s International Campus Director, Aviva Slomich, pushed the soon-to-be college graduates, to think about how they can take advantage of their knowledge, their contacts and skills they gathered as an Israel activist at their respective universities to help shape the public opinion of their future peers as professionals.
Slomich went on to provide examples of present and former students who took their skills as a campus activist into their professional world as journalists, researchers and Israel educators.
The list included the two students chosen to represent CAMERA on the ICC Mission to Israel, Justin Hayet from SUNY Binghamton and Ilan Sinelnikov from the University of Minnesota.
