To promote open conversation about being pro-Israel and pro-peace, CAMERA Fellow, Elliot Hamilton of The Claremont Colleges hosted a screening of “The J Street Challenge” in the beginning of October. Following the screening, Hamilton led a Q&A session via Skype with Avi Goldwasser. co-producer of the film.
Hamilton stated that “our hope was to teach people about what J Street actually has done to deceive the American Jewish community, but also critically analyze the situation of the Arab-Israeli conflict to question the arrogance of J Street’s two-state solution view.”
Although members of J Street were not in attendance, Hamilton recalled that he had students come up to him and say that “they were astonished as to how J Street could manipulate the community and wanted to learn more about how we could talk about certain debates in a kind, fruitful way.” Hamilton agrees that Avi Goldwasser’s session was the most unbelievable part of the entire event.
We are ecstatic that our CAMERA Fellow at The Claremont Colleges had such a thought-provoking and successful pro-Israel event this fall semester!
