IsrIn honor of Israeli Independence Day, the Bi-Co Friends of Israel of Haverford College hosted a celebration with casual conversation about Israel and festive music. The event, hosted by CAMERA liaison Noah Bloch, was intended to provide a space for students to celebrate Israel and its culture, as well as to continue their momentum as a pro-Israel group on campus.

The celebration, which consisted of music and casual conversation about Israel, was a nice break for students taking finals. It was also a helpful way to get new students involved in pro-Israel advocacy, as well as a way to reach out to the non-traditional population of non-Jews. Bloch reported that the best aspect of the event was that it was able to offer a “welcoming atmosphere for people to join the celebration.” He also added that during the celebration, representatives from the group met incoming students who are looking forward to participating in the fall when they arrive on campus.
