CAMERA Slams University College London Following its Lackluster Response to Campus Violence Against Jewish Students

The UCL Friends of Israel Society and KCL Israel Society, with CAMERA, hosted Hen Mazzig on October 27th. The event was stormed by a mob of anti-Israel protesters who penned students into the event room, preventing them from leaving. Protesters forced windows open and hurled themselves into the event room. Two students were physically assaulted, and attendees, including Mazzig, were traumatized by the incident.

The harrowing experience of our students and speaker garnered international media attention.
The Telegraph, The Jewish ChronicleThe Forward, Reshet, YNet, the International Business Times among many others covered the issue. Statements were released by Sir Eric Pickles, the UCL Board of Deputies, and the UK’s Minister of Universities. A joint statement was also made by the Union of Jewish Students, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Community Security Trust (CST), and the Jewish Leadership Council.
